What this does
Turns videos the right way up. Drop in one file or a whole folder, pick a rotation (90, 180 or 270 degrees) and, if you like, a mirror, then click Flip. You get a new MP4 next to the original, or in your Downloads folder.
Each file shows a "now" and "result" preview so you can see which way it will turn before anything is written.
How to use it
- Drag videos onto the page, or click Open videos.
- Choose Rotate and Mirror. The result preview updates as you click.
- Pick a mode: Fast or Re-encode (see below).
- Click Flip videos. Files dropped as a folder are saved beside the originals. Single files download.
Fast versus Re-encode
A video file can carry a small note that says "display me turned 90 degrees". Phones use this all the time. Fast mode only rewrites that note. Nothing about the picture is touched, so it is instant on any file size and loses zero quality.
Re-encode physically turns every frame and clears the note. It takes longer and re-compresses the video, but the result is upright everywhere, including old players and editing programs that ignore the note.
- Rotating for yourself or for modern players: Fast.
- Fixing a phone video that shows up sideways in some program: Re-encode.
- Mirroring: always re-encodes, because there is no note for that.
Which browser to use
Chrome or Edge are recommended. Re-encoding uses a browser feature those support best. Fast mode works in most browsers.
Your privacy
Your video never leaves your device. Everything happens inside your browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server.
Common questions
The result still looks sideways in my player.
That player ignores the rotation note. Run the file again with Re-encode, which bakes the turn into the pixels.
Why does a file say it "has a rotation flag"?
It was recorded on a phone held upright. Players turn it for you on the fly. Re-encode makes that permanent.
Which file types work?
mp4, mov, m4v, 3gp, mkv and webm go in. An MP4 always comes out. Videos that are not H.264 or H.265 (for example VP9 in a webm) are re-encoded even in Fast mode.
Does it change the audio?
No. The sound track is copied as-is in both modes.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Fast mode is instant. Re-encoding is slower on a phone and very large files may strain its memory.
